In 1837 John Deere made a polished-steel plow that let farmers cut furrows through sticky soil. this was the 1st major move towards the muilti-national company known today.

In 1841 the 1st practical grain drill patented by the company.

In 1886 John Deere dies at age 82.

In 1890 John Deere had talks of selling the company.

In 1949 Deere's first diesel-powered machine, the model "R" Tractor, enters production.
